East India has been witnessing rainfall of varying intensity for the past few days. So much so that there have been places where some good amounts of rains have also been recorded.

As far as the last 24 hours are concerned, some parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal did record good showers while dry weather persisted over the state of Bihar.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Ranchi recorded 21 mm of rains, Uluberia 24 mm, Shanti Niketan 16 mm, Chandbali 13 mm, Jamshedpur 5 mm, Balasore 13 mm, and Midnapore 3 mm.
These rains have been recorded due to the well-marked low-pressure area over Northeast Bay of Bengal. A trough has also been extending from this system up to a circulation over Bihar and adjoining Jharkhand.
Thus, some rainfall activity is expected over the eastern parts of the country today as well as tomorrow.
In fact, rain and thundershowers with lightning at some places are expected over Arwal, Aurangabad, Banka, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Gaya, Jamui, Jehanabad, Kaimur (Bhabua), Lakhisarai, Munger, Nalanda, Nawada, Patna, Rohtas, Sheikhpura, Bokaro, Chatra, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Garhwa, Giridih, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Jamtara, Khunti, Kodarma, Latehar, Lohardaga, Palamu, Pashchimi Singhbhum, Purbi Singhbhum, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Saraikela-Kharsawan and Simdega districts of Jharkhand and Bihar during next 3-4 hours.
Cities of West Bengal including Bankura, Barddhaman, Birbhum, Haora, Hugli, Kolkata, Murshidabad, Nadia, North Twenty-Four Parganas, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Puruliya and South Twenty Four Parganas will also see similar weather activity.
Moreover, Angul, Balangir, Baleshwar, Bargarh, Baudh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Debagarh, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajapur, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Kendujhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Puri, Sambalpur, Subarnapur and Sundargarh in Odisha will also follow the same pattern.
