Delhi is likely to witness light rain showers on late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, there are two factors that will be affecting the weather in Delhi.
Firstly, there has been change in the wind pattern because of the cyclone Hudhud that had hit coastal city of Visakhapatnam on Sunday. At present, winds in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR have changed to easterlies.
Secondly, there is an active Western Disturbance over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir, which is affecting the weather across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and areas along the foothills.
As per the forecast by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, Delhi will witness a dip in maximum temperature, which will hover around low 30s, while there will be slight increase in minimum temperature as it will be in low 20s.
Delhi has already been witnessing pleasant weather conditions for past four days, as day time is tolerably warm and nights are relatively cooler. One can also feel the chill in the early morning hours.
As on October 12, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.5 degrees Celsius and minimum settled at 18.6 degres Celsius. Similarly on October 11, the maximum temperature was 33.5 degrees Celsius, while minimum settled at 18.6 degrees Celsius.
The prevailing weather conditions are indicative of the fact that the national capital is heading towards the winter season.
