Rain likely in Bihar, Jharkhand; West Coast to remain wet

Rain is expected to spread to some more parts of Bihar and Jharkhand as the cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal has become a low pressure area and approaching the east coast. With this, rain will decrease over Gangetic West Bengal but it will continue over Orissa and Chhattisgarh during the next two days. Rain will also occur in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

The east-west wind shear zone continues to persist from the Bay of Bengal to the Arabian Sea with an associated cyclonic circulation over Marathwada. Rain will remain intact in Orissa, Maharashtra, south Madhya Pradesh, north Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Vidarbha, Marathwada and Karnataka. The region will witness light to moderate rain in next 48 hours. There could be heavy rain in Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka.

The trough extending along the West coast from Konkan to Kerala will continue to give rain in coastal Karnataka and kerala. Rain could be moderate in Mumbai tomorrow but will decrease thereafter.

Northwest plains may receive some thunder activity tomorrow evening onwards due to the easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal. Thunder development is also likely in Delhi during the period. The region is witnessing withdrawal of monsoon like condition as some more parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan are expected to bid adieu to the monsoon.

Temperatures are 5 to 7 degrees above average in parts of northeast. The trend is likely to continue as rain will remain scanty in the region. Southern parts over Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura will have light rain.
