Rain lashes East and Northeast India

Several parts of East and Northeast India have been witnessing light to moderate rain during the last 24 hours. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, several weather systems are causing rain over both the regions.

A cyclonic circulation is prevailing over Bihar and adjoining region, and a trough from this system is extending up to Rayalaseema across Chhattisgarh and Telangana. Let's take a look at the rainfall figures in East India recorded in the last 24 hours till 8:30 am on Sunday.

As per the latest forecast by Skymet, fresh spells of rain accompanied with thundershowers are expected over parts of eastern Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Telangana during next 24 to 48 hours.

Isolated places in Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal can witness heavy rain as well.

Another cyclonic circulation is seen over Assam and Meghalaya, due to which entire the Northeast region will continue to observe scattered to light rain for the next 48 hours. Following is the rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours till 8:30 am on Sunday.
