The state of Uttar Pradesh has received fairly good rains during the course of this Monsoon season. There have been many instances where the state even received heavy rains which led to flood like situation in some areas.
At present, a low pressure area, which was over Jharkhand and adjoining West Bengal, has affected many parts of East India. Due to this weather system, many parts of East Uttar Pradesh have received fairly widespread rainfall during last 24 hours.
Places like Gorakhpur received 37 mm of rainfall whereas Sultanpur received 82 mm of rains. While the holy city of Varanasi managed to record only 9 mm of rains.
But now this weather system is expected to shift towards Bihar and Jharkhand. Therefore, intensity of rain over East Uttar Pradesh will once again reduce. But this reduction doesn’t mean dry weather. We expect scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected to continue for another 24 hours.
Thereafter the weather will once again go dry as the rain will continue over eastern states namely Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha.
Weather of entire Uttar Pradesh was dry since last many days. But these rains are much awaited and are no less than a boon for the farmers that have sown Paddy crops in the state. Places that do not have proper irrigation facilities are more dependent on nature’s downpour.
