The state of Maharashtra has observed a dry February mostly. In fact, Konkan region along with Madhya Maharashtra in the state has not seen any rainfall activity during the month of January as well as February. Usually also, these regions remain rain free and showers do not make an appearance during this time, unless, in case of a freak weather event.
Talking about Marathwada, only 0.3 mm of rainfall has been observed against 6.8 mm from January 1 to February 28 making it 95% rain deficient.
On the other hand, Vidarbha has seen some good rainfall activity and the region has recorded 12.3 mm of rain against 17.2 mm during the same time period making it only 29% deficient.
Now, a Confluence zone is expected to form over the Vidarbha region by tomorrow. the merger of southerly as well as northerly winds will take place over this region due to which scattered rainfall activity is expected over some parts of Vidarbha tomorrow and on March 3.
Cities of Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Gondia, Buldhana, Chandrapur and Wardha will be seeing some rainfall activity. The possibility of isolated places seeing hailstorm activity cannot be ruled out.
On the other hand, Marathwada Konkan as well as Madhya Maharashtra will continue to witness dry weather conditions as the system will not affect these areas.
