The weather of Vaishno Devi has remained dry and clear for the last five to six days. The last snow spell that occurred over the holy shrine was on January 22-23, all thanks to the Western Disturbance that has been affecting the Western Himalayan region.

Since then, the weather has remained dry. While a series of Western Disturbances affected the Western Himalayan region, they were not strong enough to give snow or rain over the holy shrine.

As per Skymet weather, at present also, a Western Disturbance has been affecting the region since Monday night. This weather system is more active as compared to the previous weather systems.

According to the weathermen at Skymet Weather, by February 3, light rain is anticipated to make an appearance once again. Due to these rain episodes, Vaishno Devi and surrounding areas are likely to witness a fall in the day temperature. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature may scale up marginally.

Given the possibility of rain, it is feared that devotees may face disruptions in walking and hence, they are advised to stay cautious. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in other parts of Jammu and Kashmir, which can create travel disruptions.
