The hills of North India for the last two days have been witnessing dry weather conditions. Even if there has been a slight amount of rainfall, it has occurred courtesy local cloud development. Today and tomorrow, dry weather conditions.
Dry weather is expected to persist today and tomorrow as well. Even on May 9, weather activity will be on the lower side only. However, starting May 10, rainfall activity will pick up pace and will be seen in all the three states including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Rainfall activity will begin on May 10 and remain widespread until May 11. Rainfall may reduce to some extent on May 12. However, May 13 onward, rains and thundershowers will once again pick up pace and will be on its peak on May 14 and 15.
The second half will see more rains as compared to the first half. The most amount of rains will be seen over the state of Uttarakhand followed by Himachal Pradesh with the least amount of rains over Jammu and Kashmir.
These rains will be attributed to the approach of back to back Western Disturbances as well as their induced Circulations. Moreover, hailstorm activity is also possible over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh while Jammu and Kashmir will have to settle with rain and thundershowers. Snowfall activity may be seen in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir during this time.
