Few stations of Central Uttar Pradesh such as Lucknow received more than three times of the normal rain during the month of August. It received 642 mm of rain against its normal of 213.7 mm.
During the first five days of September, Lucknow has already received 80% of its monthly average rainfall. It has received 171 mm of rain against its normal of 205 mm until now.

At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing from Uttar Pradesh and a cyclonic circulation is also seen persisting over eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar.
Therefore, we expect good rains to continue over Uttar Pradesh for the next two days. Thereafter, the axis of Monsoon trough will move South of Uttar Pradesh as a low-pressure area has formed over East India and rains may reduce over Uttar Pradesh.
Rains are expected to revive once again over the state around September 10 and on and off good rains will continue over many districts of the state till September 14.
