Rain in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar to increase; to continue for 3 to 4 days

August 21, 2018 1:37 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Due to the successive weather systems which were affecting central and southern parts of the country, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were witnessing dry, warm and humid weather conditions. This had increased discomfort levels over the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

However, in the last 24 hours, due to the low-pressure area, light to moderate rains were witnessed over many parts of these states.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Moradabad recorded 21 mm of rain, followed by Patna 11 mm, Bahraich 15 mm, Lucknow and Bareilly 4 mm.

But now the good news is that the low-pressure area over Madhya Pradesh will weaken and the central and eastern end of axis of Monsoon trough will move over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Thus, commencement of rain and thundershower over most parts of both these states will take place.

Thus, we can say that weather conditions will become pleasant over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. As these rains will not be extremely heavy therefore, we do expect any flooding situation, but water logging may occur in few districts.

Moreover, due to the increase in rains over the hills of Nepal, places in the foothills such as Bahraich, Moradabad and Lakhimpur will receive heavy rainfall activity. Rains are expected to continue for the next three to four day i.e. till August 25.
