Rain in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh to continue

With near normal rains, the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are rain deficient by 11% and 2% respectively.

During the last 24 hours, rain and thundershower activity has been reported over many stations of Telangana along with few moderate spells over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. In fact, the cities of Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Anantapur also received rains.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Mahbubnagar recorded 3 mm of rain, followed by Tirupati 1.2 mm and trace of rain over Hyderabad Airport.

Now the moist air masses from Bay of Bengal are mixing with dry air mass of inland along the Andhra Pradesh Coast. Thus, rain and thundershower activities are expected to continue mainly towards afternoon and late evening over most parts of Interior Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

This situation is expected to continue for another 24 hours, as rains will go on. And after 24 hours, activity will reduce gradually and mainly comfortable breezy mornings, with humid days will persist.

Rain and thundershower at some places are likely over Anantapur, Chittoor, East Godavari, Guntur, Krishna, Kurnool, Prakasam, Srikakulam, Nellore, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and West Godavari districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during next 4 to 6 hours.
