Even though the interior districts have been witnessing scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers, but these activities are not see as a continues affair and usually a break of one or two days is observed in between.

According to Skymet Weather, these rains are attributed to the trough which runs from central parts of the country to Interior Tamil Nadu.

At present a wind discontinuity is seen from Telangana to Tamil Nadu, therefore, we expect scattered rains to continue over the interior districts of the state.

Places like Kodiakanal, Coimbatore may receive short spells of rain. But all these whether activities are expected to remain confined to the interior districts only whereas the coastal areas will remain mostly dry.

The capital city Chennai is experiencing dry weather conditions since last one month. Now also we do not expect any significant weather activity over Chennai. However, isolated thunderstorm activity may make an appearance over Chennai during next 24 hours.

Furthermore, both maximum and minimum temperatures are seen near normal, along with very hot and uneasy weather over few places of Interior Tamil Nadu. Thus, we can say that not much change in temperatures will be observed and the weather is expected to remain warm and dry.
