Most places in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are witnessing dry weather conditions since the last many days. In fact, during the last 24 hours also similar weather pattern was observed.
At present a cyclonic circulation is persisting over South coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining West central Bay of Bengal. Moreover, the easterly wave will also become active now. Therefore, we can say that the dry spell over Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh is about to break.
In the wake of above-mentioned weather systems, many districts of Coastal Tamil Nadu such as Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram Puducherry, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur and Ramanathapuram may receive scattered light to moderate rains. Heavy spells cannot be ruled out over few places.
Talking about the capital city, Chennai may also receive few good spells of rain during the next 24 to 48 hours.
The interior parts of Tamil Nadu will witness light rains initially and gradually the intensity of rains will increase there and from December 4 evening, places like Salem, Madurai and Dindigul may also receive light to moderate rains.
In Andhra Pradesh, places such as Chittoor, Prakasam and Cuddappah may also receive light to moderate rain during the next 48 hours.
So, these on and of rains are expected to continue over Tamil Nadu till December 6. Thereafter rains will decrease, and southern coastal parts may continue with isolated light rains.
