Rain in Ranchi, Patna, Gaya, Jamshedpur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Digha and Malda likely

The eastern parts of the country have not seen very good Monsoon rains including the states of Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Bihar. All these states continue to remain rain deficient even after three fourth of the Monsoon season being over.

However, the state of Odisha has remained on the normal side throughout with good showers making appearances in between.

In the last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains have been seen in Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha while parts of Bihar have witnessed light rains only.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Ranchi recorded a whopping 73 mm of rains, Puri saw 71 mm of rainfall, Berhampur 27 mm, Bankura 24 mm, Keonjhargarh 23 mm, Chandbali 17 mm, Midnapore 18 mm, Baripada 13 mm, and Balasore 11 mm with Gaya seeing 2 mm of rainfall.

The cyclonic circulation is over North Odisha and adjoining Coastal Odisha. Axis of Monsoon trough is passing across Bihar, Jharkhand, northern parts of Odisha. Thus, sky will remain cloudy to overcast.

Moderate rain is expected to occur over Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal during the next few days. Generally, humid weather will persist over many parts.

Places like Buxar, Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Daltonganj, Bokaro, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Simdega, Jamshedpur, Balasore, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar along with Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Purulia, Bankura, Digha, Burdwan, Malda, Jalpaiguri, will see moderate rains.
