As on July 16, the state of Jharkhand is rain deficit by 22% and Chhattisgarh by 8%.
Both these states have recorded good Monsoon rainfall activity in the past few days. In the last 24 hours as well, most parts of Chhattisgarh recorded light to moderate rains, while few districts of Jharkhand also witnessed some spell of rains.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Ambikapur recorded 23 mm of rains, followed by Chaibasa 16 mm, Ranchi 15 mm, Jagdalpur 13 mm, Bilaspur and Durg 6 mm, Jamshedpur 5 mm, Raipur 3 mm and Bokara 1 mm of light showers.
As per Skymet Weather, a trough runs from Rajasthan to Bay of Bengal across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh which is liable for this weather activity. Thus, we expect moderate rain and thundershowers with one or two heavy spells over southern parts of Chhattisgarh for the next 2 days. Meanwhile, the rain activity will reduce over Jharkhand.

However, rains are expected to intensify over Jharkhand and by July 20 most parts of Jharkhand as well as Chhattisgarh will record rain and thundershowers activities. These rains will continue till July 22.
Consequently we can say that rains over Jharkhand are set to increase in the next 48 hours but in the interim Chhattisgarh will continue with good rains.
