The trend of Western Disturbances approaching the Western Himalayas still continues. This statement can be supported with the fact that, two back to back Western Disturbances are again on its way to soon give major weather activities over the northwestern plains of the country.
According to Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance is expected to form on March 11 over the northern hills. This system would result in scattered rain and thundershower activities over parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. We expect these activities to continue until March 12.
After that, there will be a gap of 24 hours and another much stronger Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Himalayas on March 14. The strong weather system would give light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spell of rain and thundershowers over Punjab and Haryana, while scattered over North Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
Places like Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Moradabad and Muzaffarnagar will witness these rains.
March 15 onward, the intensity of these rains will reduce over western parts of Punjab and Haryana, but eastern parts of Punjab, Haryana and some parts of North Rajasthan as well as West Uttar Pradesh will continue to experience light to moderate rain and thundershower activities for some more time.
The Western Disturbance will start moving in east direction on March 16 and the weather will gradually start clearing up. By this time, we also expect the intensity and frequency of Western Disturbance to reduce from the country.
