Weather in Punjab and Haryana have been witnessing dry weather conditions for a while now. The last time the states saw some rains was around February 20.

However, tides are all set to turn as rainfall activity is all set to begin over both Punjab and Haryana. Moreover, the northern part of Punjab will be that one area wherein rains will pay its visit starting tomorrow only.  Meanwhile, rest of Punjab as well as Haryana will see rainfall starting February 26.

The reason for these rains is a Western Disturbance which will be seen over the hills of North India tomorrow, i.e. February 25 onward. The system will also induce a Cyclonic Circulation over the Northern Plains.

Thus, February 25 may have northern parts of the state seeing some rains while rains are expected over some parts of Punjab and Haryana by February 26 and may spill out on February 28 as well.

In Punjab, parts of Amritsar, Barnala, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Fazilka, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Muktsar, Pathankot, Patiala, Rupnagar, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Sangrur, Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar and Tarn Taran may see rains.

On the other hand, Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Mahendragarh, Mewat, Palwal, Panchkula, Panipat, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa, Sonipat and Yamunanagar may see rainfall activities.

Not only this, hailstorm is also possible in some areas of Punjab and Haryana which may cause some crop damage as well.
