Heavy to very heavy rains have been lashing south and central parts of Konkan and Goa. A cyclonic circulation has developed over South Konkan and Goa and the off shore trough is extending from Maharashtra to Kerala coast.
Thus, light to moderate rains are also occurring over Madhya Maharashtra wherein Nashik recorded 26 mm of rains. Rainfall over Vidarbha has also witnessed an increase.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Ratnagiri saw 145 mm of rains, Amravati 65 mm, Harnai 40 mm, Nashik 26 mm, Kolhapur 16 mm, Satara 11 mm, Yavatmal 16 mm, Washim 17 mm, and Parbhani 9 mm.

Now, rains are likely to continue over Vidarbha and adjoining Marathwada for the next two to three days. Now, rain intensity is also likely to increase over North Konkan and Goa as well as Mumbai in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Gradually, many parts of Maharashtra will start receiving good rains due to active Monsoon conditions in another 48 hours.
Cities including Ratnagiri, Vengurla, Harnai will see heavy rains while moderate showers are likely over Nashik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Washim, Yavatmal, Parbhani, and Nanded. Light to moderate rains are expected over Mumbai, Jalna, and Hingoli during the next 48 hours.
Vidarbha and Marathwada will see maximums in the higher 30s while other parts will observe temperatures in lower to mid 30s.
