The state of Maharashtra has been seeing dry weather conditions in most parts. However, the Konkan region along with southern parts of Madhya Maharashtra has recorded some light to moderate rainfall in the last 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Vengurla recorded a good 14 mm of rains, Ratnagiri 9 mm rainfall, Sangli 5 mm, and Kolhapur 1 mm.
Currently, an upper air trough is extending from Kerala to South Konkan Coast across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka Coast.
Due to this, temperatures will rise over the entire state of Maharashtra during the next 24 hours. However, as rains are likely to continue over Konkan region as well as South Madhya Maharashtra, temperature will decrease over Madhya Maharashtra and coastal areas.
South Madhya Maharashtra will see good rains during the next two to three days. Due to northeasterly winds, Vidarbha and Marathwada North Madhya Maharashtra will see warm and dry weather conditions. Konkan may also see some rainfall activity.
Thus, cities of Kolhapur, Mahabaleshwar, Sangli, Satara, Pune may see moderate to heavy rains while rains will be less intense over Vengurla, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg.
Mumbai will see increase in temperatures, due to prevalence of northeasterly air mass in the lower levels. Moreover, humid conditions will reduce as these winds are dry in nature.
Hence, very warm weather with dry weather conditions are expected during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, light rains are likely over the city.
