During the last 24 hours, light rains to the tune of 2 mm have been witnessed in Pune.
These rains have been observed under the influence of a Low-Pressure Area close to North Maharashtra coast, and adjoining Arabian Sea. Also, the Wind Shear Zone is passing through North Maharashtra.
Now as the Low-Pressure Area will traverse westwards away from Maharashtra, thus rain activities will take a backseat over the region.
Pune has been receiving on and off light rains only since last many days. However, no heavy spell has been witnessed in the city recently. Moreover, only some occasional moderate spells have been witnessed over the city throughout the month.
Now, we do not expect any significant weather activity over Pune. However, isolated light rains cannot be ruled out during the next three to four days.
The weather will remain pleasant with a partly cloudy sky, today and tomorrow. At present, Pune is recording its maximum temperatures close to 30°C and minimums close to 20°C.
September 24 onward, the rain activity might pick a little pace and some moderate spells of rain are likely over the city.
However, no significant weather system is likely to affect the region of Madhya Maharashtra including Pune. We do not expect any significant weather activity throughout the month over the city.
Maharashtra has received good rains this Monsoon season. As of now, the Madhya Maharashtra region is running 56% rain surplus until September 21.
