If we look at the rain figures for Maharashtra, it is apparent that the state has received good rainfall in the month of August as compared to September. Just few pockets had witnessed some good rains, while the other observed light spells.
The weather situation remained somewhat similar in the past 24 hours and most parts of the state have received light rains only. Only isolated places observed one or two moderate showers.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Harnai recorded 30 mm of rains, Kolhapur 24 mm, Nashik 10 mm, Satara 6 mm, Ratnagiri 5 mm, Sangli 4 mm and Sholapur 4 mm.
These rains were on account of the cyclonic circulation which is over west central Bay of Bengal off North Andhra Pradesh Coast. In addition to this, a trough from this system is running up to Kerala. These weather systems are inducing moist winds over the southern parts of Maharashtra and eastern parts of Vidarbha.
As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, light rains and thundershowers are likely to continue over parts of Maharashtra for another two to three days. To name a few places that will record rains include Kolhapur, Sangli, Sholapur, Mahabaleshwar, Pune, Ratnagiri and Harnai.

During the same time frame, northern parts of Maharashtra will remain dry due to prevalence of warm winds over the region. Places like Akola, Amaravati, Washim, Buldhana, Mumbai, Dahanu, Aurangabad and Jalna will witness warm and dry weather conditions.
As on September 27, the entire state of Maharashtra has received normal Monsoon rains. Looking at the sub-divisions, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra have witnessed normal rains, while Vidarbha region is the deficient with 23%.
