Punjab has been receiving good rains since last two to three days. In fact, on last Friday i.e. June 15, many northern districts of Punjab received moderate to heavy showers with squally winds.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Bhatinda and Patiala recorded 3 mm of rain, followed by Anandpur Sahib 1.2 mm, Chandigarh 0.6 mm, Ludhiana 2mm, Ferozepur and Jalandhar 1 mm.

These weather activities occurred due to a trough which was persisting from North Punjab to eastern parts of the country.

Now also we expect scattered rainfall activity to continue for another 24 hours over few parts of Punjab. Thereafter weather will become almost dry. Weather will become, warm and humid due to decreased weather activities and cloud cover.

Day temperatures which are currently comfortable and settling between high 20s to low 30s, will also start increasing and settle in mid 30s.

Further, we expect weather to remain dry and warm for at least next four to five day leading to increased dis-comfort levels over the entire state.

Moreover, as the Monsoon current is weak over most parts of the country. Therefore, we do not also expect Monsoon to reach Punjab till end of June. But on and off pre-Monsoon activities may continue giving marginal relief from the humid and warm weather conditions.
