Now the low-pressure area over interior parts of Tamil Nadu has weakened and at present lies as a trough of low which is extending from Tamil Nadu to Lakshadweep Islands.
Due to presence of this weather system, we expect light to moderate rainfall activity over some places over the state. No significant change in temperatures is expected over interior parts of the state. However, the coastal parts will experience slight increase in day temperatures.
Further, these weather conditions are likely to continue during the next 36 to 48 hours. Thereafter, weather activities in terms of rains are likely to reduce significantly.
As of today, the entire state of Tamil Nadu is 16% rain deficient. Thus, looking at the ongoing rains we expect further reduction in the rain deficiency over Tamil Nadu.
