In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, scattered light rain and thundershower activities occurred over Jharkhand. Meanwhile, Bihar and West Bengal remained almost dry with few spells of light rain in the northern districts of West Bengal.
These weather activities have been attributed to a trough which is extending from eastern parts of Jharkhand up to Andhra Pradesh. Two opposite winds, dry northwesterly and southeasterly winds from the Bay of Bengal are also merging over the area. These winds have led to clouding over the region and subsequent rainfall activity.
We again except light rainfall activity in eastern parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and at few places in West Bengal today.
From April 3, the weather in East India will become almost dry with partly cloudy sky being observed at some places. But eastern parts of Jharkhand may receive isolated rain and thundershowers.
Significant rain has been ruled out over the region for the coming three to four days.
By March 5 a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over North Odisha and adjoining Jharkhand, which will act in tandem with an anti-cyclone to feed moisture over the region.
Therefore, on April 6 and 7, once again we expect scattered light to moderate rain and thundershower activities over many parts of West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.
During this period the intensity and spread of these weather activities will comparatively be strong and widespread. One or two moderate thunder squall and lightning strikes accompanied with hailstorm and strong winds may also occur.
As we move further into April, the intensity of pre-Monsoon activities will also increase. By the time May arrives, we possibly may have already seen some violent weather activities.
