The state of Bihar has been witnessing partly cloudy to cloudy sky conditions since last 24 hours. In fact, these conditions have even resulted in light rains over isolated places in the state, wherein Gaya has recorded 1.2 mm of light rainfall in the span of 24 hours. Moreover, shallow to moderate fog has made an appearance during early morning hours.
Talking about temperatures, minimums have been recorded at 12.5℃ over Chapra and Gaya followed by Bhagalpur at 13.7℃, Patna at 13.8℃ and Supaul at 15.6℃. On the other hand, maximums have been recorded between 18℃ and 25℃ during last 24 hours.
The reason for such conditions can be attributed to the presence of an upper air Trough altogether in association of the active Western Disturbance across Tibet region.
Now, with the system still persisting over the region, we expect light rains over eastern parts of Bihar during next 24 hours. Places such as Purnia, Kaithair, Araria, Kisanganj, Madhubani, Supaul, Baksar, Gaya, Aurangabad, Chapra and Nawada will witness light rains.
However, once this system weakens and moves towards East, weather conditions would improve consequently. But due to incursion of northwesterly air mass over the state, temperature pattern is expected to change significantly. Thus, we expect a significant fall in temperatures in the coming time.
