Rain in parts of Andhra Pradesh, minimums to drop over Telangana

For the past few days, heavy rains had been lashing the state of Andhra Pradesh. These rains were occurring due to Cyclone Phethai which had caused three-digit rains over some parts of Andhra Pradesh as well. Moreover, Phethai also crossed Andhra Coast before weakening.

Now, rainfall activity has taken a backseat now as the system has moved towards Northeast India and weakened significantly. Thus, the state of Andhra Pradesh has taken a break from rains for the past two days or so.

On the other hand, Cyclone Phethai had given light rainfall over Telangana after which the state had seen dry weather conditions only and no rains have been observed over the region.

At present, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Sri Lanka and adjoining Tamil Nadu coast. This system is likely to weaken into a trough of low which will extend from North Tamil Nadu to South Coastal Tamil Nadu. As a result, isolated pockets of Coastal Andhra Pradesh may receive light rains.

However, once this system moves further in westwards directions, rain activities will show a decrease.

Talking about temperatures, northern parts of Telangana will witness a marginal drop in night temperatures whereas rest of Telangana will witness a marginal rise in day temperatures.
