Cyclonic circulation over south Madhya Pradesh has given light to moderate rainfall over parts of Madhya Pradesh, adjoining Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Orissa.
In Madhya Pradesh, Betul received 2 mm of rain, Jabalpur 0.3 mm, Satna 6 mm and Khajuraho 6.4 mm. In Chhattisgarh, the rainfall was spread across Ambikapur with 6.2 mm, Pendra 6.5 mm and Bilaspur 3.3 mm of rain. Parts of Jharkhand to receive rainfall are Daltonganj 2.8 mm and in Orissa Angul received 3.2 mm, Keonjhargarh received 15 mm of rain.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, rain over Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand will be ceasing soon as the cyclonic circulation attributing to rain in these areas is showing signs of weakening. The system will clear in next 24 hours.
Rainfall over Central India during this time of the year is not frequent, neither are any weather systems experienced. It is very rare to see such kinds of system affecting the region. During this period, rain remains confined to either the northern plains or extreme southern parts of the country.
