Rain in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh to continue

Central India is one of the regions in the country which is on the receiving end of Monsoon rains. The reason being that all weather systems that develop over Bay of Bengal take a westerly route and cross via Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Thus, these regions have been seeing continuous rainfall activities since the onset of Monsoon.

Moreover, the axis of Monsoon trough is also playing an important role. Whenever it shifts south of its normal position, it passes through Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha leading to increased rain activities. Vidarbha usually remains in the vicinity of these weather systems which is why many parts of the sub division have been seeing occasional moderate to heavy showers.

The weather system over Madhya Pradesh which changed its intensity from depression to well marked low and further weakened into a low and cyclonic circulation has now moved away. The axis of Monsoon trough has also resumed its northward journey.

The western end of the trough has already moved north, thus, rains will reduce over southern and western parts of Madhya Pradesh but moderate showers with isolated heavy rains may continue over North and East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and parts of Odisha.

Intensity of rains will begin to reduce over Vidarbha by tomorrow but as another low pressure is forming over North Bay of Bengal, thus rains over Odisha, Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh will not fade away. Weather will remain comfortable.
