Many parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Marathwada recorded good rains on April 10 and 11. However, after these spells, the weather of Maharashtra once again became dry. So much so that in the last 24 hours, many parts of the state remained rain-free.
The month of April did not remain constructive in terms of giving good amounts of rains and the recent rain episode also excluded parts of Konkan that has been witnessing a dry spell for more than a month now.
As of now also, Skymet Weather does not foresee any changes in the weather pattern of Konkan Division as it would continue to remain dry. On the other hand, a trough is likely to develop over Vidarbha and Marathwada leading to scattered rain and thundershowers over the region in the next 24 hours.

Thereafter, by April 15 and 16, isolated pockets of Madhya Maharashtra may also get to witness rains. Thus, Pune and adjoining areas of Madhya Maharashtra may experience some rain and thundershowers.
However, these rains are not expected to bring in any major deviation in terms of dropping the temperatures as they would continue to settle near the normal levels.
At this stage, let us see the impact of this weather on the agriculture belt of Maharashtra:
The expected rain and thundershowers over parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada may affect Mango, Sweet Orange, Orange, Lime and vegetable crops. Fruit and flower drop are likely and hence farmers are advised to remain cautious for the same.
Matured summer crops of Maize & Groundnut, Onion crops are also prone to damages and crop quality is likely to get affected.
