Since the last 24 hours, in the presence of easterly/northeasterly winds, dry dry and warm weather is continuing over the entire state of Tamil Nadu including the capital city Chennai. In fact, during the last few days, sky also remained partly cloudy over the state.
At present, in wake of Cyclonic Storm ‘Pabuk’ over Andaman Sea, the moisture winds will soon start affecting the coastal parts of Tamil Nadu. Thus, we expect light rains over isolated places of Tamil Nadu such as Nagapattinam, Karaikal and Cuddalore during next 24 hours. Thereafter, weather across entire state will become dry.
The sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy over Chennai with maximum and minimum temperatures settling around 30˚C and 21˚C respectively.
Talking about temperatures, minimums over Pamban are being reported around 24.8℃, followed by Kanyakumari at 22℃, Palayankottai at 21.4℃, Chennai at 20.7℃, Karaikal at 20.3℃,, Nagapattinam at 20.1℃,Tiruchirapalli at 19.8℃, Tondi at 19.8℃, Madurai at 19.6℃, Salem at 18.8℃, Coimbatore at 17.8℃, Dharmapuri at 17.5℃,Vellore at 16.3℃,Kodaikanal at 10.7℃ and Coonoor at 9℃.
In the coming days, maximum will remain between 29℃ and 30 ℃ ,while minimums will decrease marginally and settle around 17℃ to 19 ℃ over most parts of the state.
