Light rains continued over some parts of Maharashtra on the past day as well. However, the intensity of rains remained mainly confined to the Konkan division and remained light in intensity. Meanwhile, the other parts of the state, namely, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha remained mainly dry.
In the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Thursday, Mumbai recorded 7 mm of rains, Alibag 5 mm, Harnai 2 mm, Vengurla 2 mm, Matheran 1 mm, Ratnagiri 1 mm, and Dahanu witnessed 0.4 mm of light rains.
As per Skymet Weather, a trough is running from East Madhya Pradesh to Telangana across East Vidarbha. In the wake of these two weather systems, we expect light rain and thundershowers to occur over some parts of Vidarbha and isolated pockets of Madhya Maharashtra. Nagpur and Pune may also receive light rains after 24 hours.

Along with this, the offshore trough extending from South Konkan to Kerala coast is also expected to become more prominent and hence, the intensity of rains may increase over Konkan division in the next 24 hours.

Mumbai may also receive one or two moderate spells of rains. The temperatures would remain in higher 30’s over most parts of interior Maharashtra however, coastal areas may witness the temperatures settling close to mid-30’s.
On the other hand, cities like Parbhani, Nashik, Aurangabad, and Nanded would remain dry.

In the wake of rains, farmers are advised to continue land preparation, nursery preparation for crops and stay cautious against pest infection. Farmers should give support to the plant by stick to avoid physical damage and lodging of plants. Farmers should also apply fertilizer in Mango orchard.
