Rain in Mumbai, Pune to take backseat, intensity to increase by June 16

The entire state of Maharashtra has been receiving good rainfall activity since last many days. However, rain intensity was seen reducing during the last 2-3 days. In fact, isolated pockets of Pune and Mumbai received light rains today as well.

The off-shore trough running along the West Coast that has been responsible for giving good rains over the state, has now weakened and is now confined to Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Therefore, the weather over Mumbai and Pune is expected to remain dry and warm in next 2-3 days, but isolated light rains cannot be ruled out.

Further also, we do not expect moderate to heavy showers over these cities for at least for the next two days. But by June 16 again, we expect intensity of rains to increase over Mumbai and suburbs, but Mumbai is expected to receive few moderate spells by June 19.

Sultry weather conditions which are prevailing at present will become comfortable due to the on and off rains and cloudy to overcast sky.

However, during that time Mumbaikars will get the feeling of Monsoon again but heavy to very heavy rains will be ruled out during that time.
