The meteorologists at Skymet Weather gave their insight that the first pre-Monsoon activity is just around the corner. In fact, the northern chunk of Madhya Maharashtra would witness isolated rain and thundershowers tomorrow, while the southern districts of the mentioned region are expected to observe rainy spells day after tomorrow. Places such as Pune, Nashik, Sangli and Satara would receive isolated pre-Monsoon rains between April 7 and 10.

Similar is the case expected with the Konkan region, wherein isolated rain and thundershowers are anticipated during the above mentioned time frame. The entertainment city of the country, Mumbai is expected to record isolated thunderstorm around April 8.
Hence, it is quite apparent that most parts of the state are expected to receive pre-Monsoon showers during the next four to five days.
Let us have a look at what impact would these showers have on the agriculture:
In Konkan, farmers must continue the harvesting of Mangoes, Aracanut, and Konkan lemon in the morning and evening hours. They are also suggested to keep the harvested fruits at safe place to prevent sunstroke and heat.
Further, as pre-Monsoon is just on doorstep, farmers are suggested to postpone irrigation and keep the harvested produce of wheat in safer places. Similarly, in Konkan, farmers are recommended to provide mechanical support to orchards (Banana, Papaya, Grape), staking in vegetables and undertake propping in mid-season Sugarcane.
