Vidarbha region of Maharashtra recorded heavy to very heavy rains over many places during the last 24 hours. In fact, South Madhya Maharashtra also received moderate rainfall activity. Meanwhile, isolated places in Madhya Maharashtra witnessed light rains with cloudy sky conditions.
Due to these rains, significant fall in day temperatures was also seen over most parts of the state.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Wardha recorded 117 mm of rain, followed by Amravati 69 mm, Akola 57 mm, Nagpur 49 mm, Buldana 43 mm, Kolhapur 24 mm, Ratnagiri 16.2 mm, Mahabaleshwar 5.4 mm, Aurangabad 1.2 mm, Jalgaon 14.4 mm, Mumbai 0.3 mm and Parbhani 0.1 mm.
At present, the depression lies over southwestern parts of Madhya Pradesh which will further be moving west/northwestwards and weakening into a well-marked low-pressure area.
Due to the presence of this system, moderate rains with strong winds are expected over the northern parts of Madhya Maharashtra. Meanwhile, Vidarbha will experience cloudy weather conditions and only few places may witness light rainfall activity. Marathwada region is expected to remain dry and warm.
Places such as Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Malegaon, Nasik and Aurangabad will witness moderate rains. However, Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Sangli, Satara and Mahabaleshwar will see light rains.
Thus, we can that both day and night temperatures will start rising in wake of the depression.
