The West Coast of the country has been witnessing good Monsoon rains for the past few days. So much so that three-digit rainfall has been lashing the Konkan region of Maharashtra particularly. Mumbai has also seen some heavy spells of rainfall. Meanwhile, some rains have also been occurring over parts of Vidarbha as well as Madhya Maharashtra.

The last 24 hours were also quite rainy for the Konkan region along with Mumbai. In fact, in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Harnai recorded three-digit rains to the tune of 190 mm, Ratnagiri 167 mm, Colaba in Mumbai 151 mm, Alibagh 83 mm, Vengurla 70 mm.
Other parts of Maharashtra also some rains including Kolhapur 13 mm, Aurangabad 14 mm, Buldhana 16 mm, Malegaon 11 mm, Yavatmal 8 mm, and Jalgaon 2 mm.

Currently, the off-shore trough has become active and is extending from Konkan region to Coastal Kerala. Thus, moderate to heavy rains with very heavy at some places will continue over the Konkan region during the next five to six days. However, Madhya Maharashtra is expected to witness moderate rains while Vidarbha will see light rains with moderate rains in pockets.
Also, day temperatures will witness a fall due to cloud cover over the region. Thus, slightly comfortable conditions will prevail over the interior parts of Maharashtra.
