Due to the confluence zone over northern parts of Maharashtra as well as a Trough extending from Lakshadweep to North Coastal Maharashtra up to Northeast Arabian Sea, rains will now increase over many parts of Maharashtra.
Already, during the last 24 hours, rains have been reported over Pune. Now, we expect rains to cover many parts of Maharashtra. Rains will remain light and chances of heavy rains are ruled out. Isolated hailstorm activities are also possible.
Places like Aurangabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmednagar, Satara, Buldhana, Amravati, Nagpur, Wardha, Gondi and Chandrapur may receive light rainfall activities. Heavy rains are ruled out. These rains are expected to continue until December 26, i.e. tomorrow. Thereafter, weather will become almost dry. However, isolated light rains will continue over Nanded, Osmanabad, Parbhani and Hingoli on December 27 as well.
Thereafter, northerly winds will start blowing over Maharashtra, which will result in the reduction of temperatures. Thus, Maharashtra which hasn’t felt the winter chill until now, particularly minimums in Vidarbha may come down to single digit by the end of the month.
Minimums will see an increase by a couple of degrees, however, for the next couple of days.
