The state of Madhya Pradesh did see some rain and hailstorm activities a few days ago which even caused massive crop damage. However, talking about the rain, entire Madhya Pradesh has not seen much this winter.
At present both East and West Madhya Pradesh are rain deficient by 37 percent, and 62 percent, respectively. Now, a confluence zone has developed over eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh due to which scattered light to moderate rains and thundershowers are expected over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, weather will once again become dry and both day and night temperatures may fall marginally.
However, between February 24 and 26, a trough is expected to form over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Also, an induced Cyclonic Circulation will form over eastern parts of Rajasthan. A trough will also extend from this system up to Gangetic West Bengal across North Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. On February 25, another trough will form from East Uttar Pradesh up to Telangana across East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh
Thus, scattered light to moderate rains will once again occur over many areas of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from February 24. Rain intensity will increase on February 25 and continue until February 26.
By February 27, weather system will move towards the east, and the weather will once again become dry. This year, the state of Chhattisgarh has seen good showers making it rain surplus by 25 percent. Upcoming rains would once again increase the rainfall surplus for the state.
