It seems like rains are taking baby steps over the entire state of Maharashtra. Parts of the state had last witnessed scattered light rains on November 5 and 6. These rains provided some sort of relief to the residents. But no sooner, the mother nature changed her mind and once again made the weather over the state completely dry.
Since November 7, dry weather has gripped Maharashtra. However, weather went for a change during the last 24 hours. At present, a feeble trough is extending from Madhya Maharashtra to South Konkan & Goa which has resulted in some scattered light to moderate rains over South Madhya Maharashtra.
This trough is expected to persist for another 48 hours, thereby resulting in on and off rain and thundershower activities over parts of Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra.
Further, Marathwada may also experience some light rains over one or two pockets. However, intensity of these rains will be very light.
Places like Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik may also receive one or two short spells of rains. Intensity of these rains will be comparatively more over some places of South Madhya Maharashtra such as Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara.
However, no change in the weather of Vidarbha is expected and this region will continue to battle dry weather conditions.
