Kolkata, in terms of rains has been fairly alright this month. The Alipore observatory which is the regional record observatory for Kolkata has recorded 306 mm against 325 mm.
During the last 24 hours also, the Alipore observatory recorded a good 23 mm of rains. Now, more rainfall activity is all set to come up for the city of Kolkata and that too a prolonged one.
This is because a fresh Low Pressure Area is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal soon which will activate the rain surge over Kolkata. In fact, we can expect the city to see about 100 mm of rains in a span of the coming one week. This means that the city will easily be able to surpass its monthly mean.
