On Friday, the city of joy had recorded day maximum of 35.9°C, which was four degrees above normal. Similarly, minimum temperatures also settled above normal by three degrees at 23°C.

Now, a trough has developed from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to North Bay of Bengal, which has been infusing moisture over Kolkata. As a result, we can expect formation of some convective clouds over the state capital either on Saturday evening or early morning hours of Sunday, leading to isolated rain and thundershowers.
Intensity and spread of the weather activity will not be much and will be confined to light rains only. Weather will clear away after the next 24 hours, however, systems will leave significant amount of moisture in the atmosphere.
As a result, minimum temperatures will continue to settle above normal but maximum temperatures will see a drop.
