In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Asansol recorded 34.8 mm of rain, followed by Krishnanagar 35 mm, Midnapore 30 mm, Bankura 17.4 mm, Burdwan 2 mm, Darjeeling 4 mm, Diamond Harbour 25.5 mm, Digha 8.9 mm, Jalpaiguri 0.8 mm.

Now as monsoon has made an onset over Kolkata, we expect it to cover the entire state in the next 24-48 hours.

Further, light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are expected over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and scattered rains are likely to continue over Gangetic West Bengal.

However, rains will be light to very light over the central parts such as Malda, Murshidabad, Birbhum, Bardhaman etc.

Moreover, weather will remain sultry over most parts. However, northern districts such as Siliguri and Jalpaiguri may witness comfortable weather conditions due to the ongoing rainfall activities.

Day temperatures are above normal over many places of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and near normal over rest of the other parts. Further we expect temperatures to drop by 2-3 degrees over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and become near normal.
