In absence of any significant weather system, dry and very warm weather is persisting over entire south peninsula. In fact, day temperatures are touching almost 40˚C such as Anantapur recorded 42.1˚C maximum temperatures yesterday.

At present, an upper air trough is extending from Kerala to Telangana across North Interior Karnataka. Hence most parts of south peninsula are getting affected by warm and moist winds from Bay of Bengal in the lower levels. Thus, mainly dry weather conditions are likely to continue during the next 2 to 3 days.

In pockets of North Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema weather conditions will be hot, while other parts of South India will be very warm.

On the other hand, due to the presence of a trough over Kerala, during the next 2 to 3 days, isolated places of Kerala such as Kochi, Punalur and Thrissur will witness rain and thundershower activities.

Places like Anantapur, Kurnool, Tirupati in Rayalaseema, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda in Andhra Pradesh, Gulbarga, Bijapur in Karnataka, Salem and Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu will continue to witness hot weather conditions with maximum temperatures above 40˚C.
