As per Skymet Weather, a trough is extending from Madhya Maharashtra to Comorin area across Interior Karnataka and Interior Tamil Nadu. In the wake of this, we expect light to moderate rains to continue over Kerala for another 48 hours.

These rains would affect the districts such as Kochi, Karaikal, Kozhikode, Kannur, Tuticorin, Palayamkottai, Thanjavur, Tuticorin, Kodaikanal, Alappuzha, and Tiruchirapalli. Whereas, Chennai is likely to remain dry.

Few interior and south coastal districts of Tamil Nadu may also receive few spells of rains. However, due to the absence of any significant weather system, the north coastal districts of Tamil Nadu would have to manage with partly cloudy skies only as rains are not foreseen for this part of the state.
