Rain in Kochi, Kozhikode, Alappuzha to continue

The state of Kerala has been recording good monsoon showers. in fact that have been days when three digit rainfall has also occurs over God's own country.

As far as the last 24 hours are concerned, moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall activity was observed over many parts of the state of Kerala.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Kochi recorded heavy rains to the tune of 47 mm, Karipur witnessed 35 mm of rains, Punalur 37 mm, Kannur 27 mm, Alappuzha 26 mm, Kozhikode 22 mm, and Thiruvananthapuram witnessing 15 mm of rainfall.

These rains can be attributed to the presence of the off shore trough along the West Coast, however, as the trough is feeble in nature, rainfall activity has not been as heavy over Kerala.

Now as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, moderate rainfall activity will continue over the state of Kerala. One or two places may also witness heavy showers during the next 24 hours.

Talking about the rainfall amounts, as of now, the state of Kerala is rain surplus by 18 percent and with on and off rainfall activity continuing over Kerala, the amounts are expected to remain the same.
