The state of Kerala has been seeing on and off rains for the past few days. These showers have been patchy in nature and not on the heavier side. In fact, only light showers have been observed over the region.

The last 24 hours have seen only light rains making an appearance over isolated pockets of Kerala. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Thiruvananthapuram saw 5 mm of rains, Punalur recorded 3 mm of rainfall.

Talking about Tamil Nadu, the weather in the southern state has been dry during the last couple of days. However, now, patchy rains are expected over western parts of Tamil Nadu including the cities of Erode, Coimbatore, Kodaikanal, Ooty, and Madurai during the next couple of days.

On the other hand, entire Kerala is expected to see some rains and may be of lighter intensity in some parts with moderate showers making an appearance over some other areas. These showers will continue for a few more days in Kerala.

These rains will be attributed to the presence of a Trough which is running from western parts of Madhya Pradesh across Marathwada and Vidarbha up to Karnataka. Along with this, a Cyclonic Circulation is South of Kerala.

Despite rains, temperatures will remain on the higher side only over the state of Tamil Nadu.
