The state of Kerala along with parts of South Interior Karnataka have been experiencing on and off rains since the last few days in wake of the weather systems travelling from Bay of Bengal.

In fact, during the last 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall activity occurred over few parts of Kerala and light rains over South Interior Karnataka. The northern and coastal parts of Karnataka remained almost dry.

The low-pressure area which was persisting over interior parts of Tamil Nadu weakened and moved in west direction. Now this same system lies as a trough of low and is extending from Maldives to Southeast Arabian Sea along the Kerala Coast.

Due to this weather system, moist winds will be blowing over Kerala and South Karnataka. Hence, during the next 24 to 36 hours, light to moderate rains are expected over some places of Kerala along with southern and coastal parts of Karnataka.

Meanwhile, the northern parts of Karnataka will experience dry weather conditions with partly cloudy sky. Slight decrease in day temperatures will witnessed over few northern districts and night temperatures will increase.

Thereafter, weather activities will decrease over most parts of these states, as the same trough will be weakening further. However, during the next 24 hours, day temperatures will decrease slightly over both these states, due to clouding and rains.
