Dry weather conditions have been prevailing over Karachi for the past few days now. Today, light rain has been seen over Karachi. This has been due to the presence of a Cyclonic Circulation over Saurashtra and Kutch region up to 5.8 km above the sea level.
We expect rains and thundershowers to continue lashing Karachi until August 29 or 30, which will remain between light and moderate in terms of intensity.
However, the month of September will begin on a dry note with the city witnessing almost nil rain for a week. During this period, the maximum, as well as the minimum temperatures, may increase by a couple of notches.
Thereafter, another spell of rain is expected around September 7, which will occur because a Low Pressure will travel towards the state and give some showers over Karachi and its adjoining areas. In fact, the Indian state of Gujarat is expected to see moderate to heavy rains in view of this system first. These rainfall activities are also expected to be seen over parts of South Sindh as well including Hyderabad, Badin, Chhor, Nawabshah and Pad Idan.
