The moist easterly and south easterlies are prevailing over most parts of Uttar Pradesh and easterly winds will continue over the region in the lower levels which is likely to strengthen after two to three days.
The Axis of Monsoon Trough is also likely to shift northwards and move closer to South Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours. Also, change in the upper air system is also expected wherein the southerly winds will become south-westerlies along the foothills. This will cause increased rainfall activities over Uttar Pradesh in the coming days post 24 hours.
Presently, light rainfall activity at some places is predicted with isolated moderate spells. In the past 24 hours as well, light rains have been recorded at some places like Bahraich, Hardoi, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, and Aligarh.
While in the next 24 hours as well light rains will continue which is likely to enhance after almost 36 hours. The rains will be more over central and eastern parts of the state covering Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Rai Bareilly, Jhansi, Agra, Aligarh with scattered light spells to be seen over Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, and Meerut.
Comfortable morning with a light breeze and patchy rains towards afternoon/evening with temperatures close to the normal or marginally below can be seen over most parts of West Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours.
