In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Tirupati recorded 37 mm of rain, followed by Ongole 33.5 mm, Bhawanipatna 37 mm, Titlagarh 29 mm, Narsapur 25 mm, Sambalpur 22 mm, Kalingapatnam 9.4 mm, Machilipatnam 6.1 mm, Vijayawada 3.9 mm, Nellore 1.7 mm and Vishakhapatnam 1.4 mm.

Currently, a cyclonic circulation is seen over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining South Odisha Coast at mid-levels. Moreover, a trough is also seen extending from this system to Coastal Tamil Nadu.

Therefore, we expect moderate showers with one or two heavy spells to continue over Odisha. Meanwhile, scatted light to moderate rains will continue over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rain activities over Rayalaseema will remain subdued. However, light rains cannot be ruled out.

These on and off rains will continue till July 5th. On July 6 and July 7, we expect significant increase in rains over Odisha as well as parts of Andhra Pradesh, as at that time the cyclonic circulation will become more marked and will move inland.

Thus, we can say that rains are likely to continue over parts of both the states and pleasant weather conditions will prevail.
