The hills of North India have been experiencing dry weather conditions since the last few days. In fact, during the last 24 hours as well, in the absence of any significant weather system, all the three states i.e. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand observed dry weather.
The morning hours observed very cold weather specially over the higher reaches of all these states. Meanwhile, the day remained cool with partly cloudy sky.
At present, a Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over northern parts of Afghanistan and adjoining parts of Pakistan region. This system would be further moving east/northeastwards and affecting over Western Himalayas during the next few days.
Even though during next 12 to 18 hours, weather will remain dry, but clouding will be seen increasing continuously and becoming denser which will later be resulting in the form of in rain and snow.
However, due to increase of clouding, the day temperatures will decrease significantly while night temperatures will increase.
Between December 10 and 11, light to moderate rain and thundershower will occur over many places of Jammu and Kashmir, along with snowfall over few places. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh will see light to moderate rains over isolated places snow over the higher reaches. Similar weather conditions may occur in Uttarakhand as well.
